Grandma Afton

I would like to give a special tribute to Grandma Afton...

Lyndsey's grandma passed away today from cancer. When I heard the sad news, I couldn't help but think of how wonderful Grandma Afton was! I remember the good ol' days when she used to feed us during our high school lunch hours. She was so patient with us invading her house! She treated us with the utmost courtesy and respect and I admire her so much!

Let us all keep Lynds and her family in our prayers and make sure we let our loved ones, who are still with us, know just how much we love and appreciate them in our lives.

We love you Lynds!!

Amberlee's Newsletter--July

HELLO FRIENDS!!

I am so glad that Lindsay decided to start up a newsletter! I am so excited to be able to hear from everyone and the events taking place in their lives. Hopefully we can keep this going for a long, long time...

Well, Casey and I have officially moved back to Utah! We lived in Florida for a year and hadn't planned on leaving for 5 years, but a work opportunity came up for Casey that we just couldn' t turn down - so here we are. We enjoyed Florida so much and miss our family there tremendously! There is nothing like moving 2500 miles away and growing physically, emotionally and spiritually. (Linds - you know what I mean!) It was a bitter-sweet feeling having to pack up all of our "stuff" after a short year and move home. I was extremely excited to be home, but I will never forget the incredible experiences I had as a Floridian!

We are waiting to close on a home here in Spanish Fork. It is in a beautiful new subdivision up by my mom's house. I wasn't too excited to live in Spanish Fork, but our circumstances kept us here. It a wonderful home that we can live in short-term until we can build something more permanent in a few years.

Casey is adjusting well to his job. He is working up in Salt Lake right now and is not enjoying the drive every day, but luckily it is only temporary! :) After being VERY bored in Florida, I have decided to get a part-time job. I will be doing some registrar work at a charter school in Spanish Fork. I am also their Drill Team Advisor and Dance Company Advisor. It is a 2A school that is in it's 3rd year and so I'm excited to get to build their dance program. While it sounds like these responsibilities will be keeping me busy, I have worked it out to only be at the school 2 1/2 days a week and have my sister tend Talon. This way, I still get to get out of the house and not have to worry about a stranger tending my son.

Talon is doing great! He is the best little boy in the world! (I'm sure everyone thinks that about their child!) He turns 1 in a month! I can't believe I had him a year ago! Time flies! He is getting ready to stand here soon... HOPEFULLY! He is being such a "chicken" about standing by himself! I'm hoping he will be walking by his first birthday... its not looking like that is going to happen! I thought since he was an early crawler, he would be an early walker. Oh well, all in good time! My family loves having him here. I think my niece Jayden is more excited than anyone since she can pick on someone smaller than her!

Surprisingly, it is beginning to come together here for us. We took a big leap of faith coming back here, and I think it was worth it! I look forward to the future and what it holds for my family.

I look forward to seeing all of you soon. I would love to have a lunch date once a month so we can at least see each other! Let me know if you are interested.

Julie's newsletter--July

Hi!

It's great to hear from everyone. I have to admit my life hasn't been as crazy as everyone elses. I guess I'm the lucky one that hasn't left SF.(maybe I shouldn't say lucky). But my life has definitely been changing.

So Richard and I have been very busy. You guys might get bored being home and not working but let me just tell you that you're pretty lucky. I wish I didn't work so much. I guess it will all be worth it later. I'm still teaching dance at the studio. I've also been working with Richard. His business has grown a lot thru the last two years. We have been very blessed! I schedule his work for him for window washing and we've gotten into the construction side of windows and final cleaning. So on top of that and dance I stay pretty busy. I wish I had a little more time to stay home with Ammon. I too love being a mom. But like I said it will be worth it.

We are just getting ready to move. Don't worry it's just across town. Like I would leave SF, Haha. With the business growing our townhome just isn't quite big enough. So we've built a house down by the new ballpark. I have to say I'm pretty excited. It's really nice down there. I will be in walking distance to my parents and Jaimi. Richard's a little nervous about that!

I've been serving as the Junior Primary chorister. You think they'd call someone that can sing, but nope. I've been doing this for 2 years. It's actually pretty fun. It might be one of the best callings. Richard has been the Young Mens President for a year and a half now. It keeps him pretty busy. Lots of meetings. I will be happy to finally be able to spend all Sunday with him.

Ammon is growing up fast. He's six months now. Just getting ready to crawl. He actually already does an army crawl and gets around pretty good. He is a happy baby. Only cries when he's hungry or in his car seat to long. Lately he's been crying a little more. I think his first tooth is coming in. It is so fun to watch him change and grow up. What an amazing experience. I love it!

Anway, things are going great. Having my own little family has been so much fun. It's kind of crazy to be at this part of life, but I really love it. My family has been growing. Ammon was the 6th grandkid and Jaimi is exspecting a boy Oct. 23rd. I'm glad Ammon will have a cousin his age. It's not fun being younger than everyone and being left out, although the girls love to play with him. Matt & Liz sold KMA, kind of sad but what can you do. Other than that I can't say that much has changed. We're all still here in good ole SF.

I'm always up for getting together. I was bummed I couldn't last time. Give me a call when you're planning on getting together. August it perfect. It's my vacation from dance. Talk to ya soon,

Julie

P.S. I don't really know what I'm doing, but I tried to attach a couple of pics.

Carly's Newsletter--July

Hello Ladies,

It has been so fun reading the newsletters! Great idea Linds! First, I hope everyone is doing well and I can't wait to get together and have lunch. August works great for me. Brock and I recently graduated from the University of Utah. I graduated with my Mass Communications degree in Broadcast Journalism and Brock graduated with an Exercise and Sports Science degree. Although he does nothing in his field of work right now. He is in the CSD (Church Security Department) for the LDS church. He loves it and he comes home with some inspirational story every night. Most of what he does is supposed to be confidential but needless to say he is in good hands. Unfortunately he was wakeboarding last week and tore his ACL and meniscus on his right knee and will go in for surgery on August 3rd. He made it through four years of football without an injury and now this!

As for me I am working at UVU as the Artistic Director of both the Dance and Cheer teams. It is a new position so it has been fun the last couple of months to work with the school on moving to University status. I love working with the girls and it keeps me young! I also teach dance a couple days of week at Progressions- my aunts studio. And on the side I sell designer jeans! I sell everything from True Religions to Rock and Republics. It is really busy but I get to do it with my sister in law who lives in Spanish Fork so it brings me back to SF town every once in a while.

We live in the north end of Saratoga Springs. We really like it out here, although it is not another state is definately far enough out here to sometimes feel like it! Brock and I are sunbeam primary teachers. I am pretty sure I will not be baby hungry any time soon. Our families are doing well. My little brother Trevor just had eye surgery due to a detached retina, he is doing much better now. My dad is still single, what's new! Landon and Jenny live in Springville and my Mom and Mike moved to Orem.

I have talked to some of you about this but Chelsea Chipman has asked if our group of friends would help organize and plan our 10 year high school reunion. I need to get more details from her but I thought it would be fun and of course the coolest girls in school will have the best party!! Let me know if any of you have ideas. Can't wait to see you all!

Love,Carly
